Language labels
Irish English or Hiberno-English describes English varieties used in Ireland. Irish or Gaeilge is a distinct Celtic language. The site labels them separately while explaining how long contact has influenced English grammar and vocabulary.
What the site is not
It is not an official national dictionary, a replacement for Foras na Gaeilge, or a claim that every person on the island speaks the same way. It is a source-aware starter dictionary designed to improve through review.
